The presentation of the English version of the report titled "Azerbaijanophobia in Armenia: Hostility in the pre-war and post-war discourse of Armenians" was held at the Center of Analysis of International Relations on June 23. The two-part event began with the presentation of the report and continued with discussions on the results of the elections in Armenia.

Delivering the presentation, the AIR Center Chairman Farid Shafiyev said that in order to move towards peace, the problem of entrenched Azerbaijanophobia in Armenia must be resolved. According to him, despite the problems in both societies, Azerbaijanophobia has deeper roots in Armenia: "Azerbaijanophobia is not only observed in Armenia on social media but is also a state-run policy. The false narrative of Azerbaijanis formed in Armenia, in fact, to some extent helped Azerbaijan to win the Second Karabakh War".

Speaking about the parliamentary elections in Armenia, Farid Shafiyev said that although the election results give a little hope, it is too early to judge what the policy of the re-elected government will be. The chairman said that the results of the elections were more a choice of the Armenian people against the Kocharyan regime: “Armenians also opted for the continuation of reforms. However, if Pashinyan speaks only about democracy for Armenians, it is racist. We must not forget that it was Pashinyan who ordered to launch missiles against civilians in Ganja at nighttime".

The event continued with a Q&A session.
