A conference on the theme “The Key to the Caucasus: Geopolitics and Humanitarian policies of Azerbaijan” was held in Budapest, Hungary.
Co-organized by the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA), Azerbaijan's Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) and Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), the conference focused on demining activities in the liberated territories and the Western Azerbaijan Community, as well as issues related to the geopolitical situation in the South Caucasus, the Middle Corridor and energy.
The event was attended by Tahir Taghizade, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Hungary, Gaya Mammadov, Deputy Chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community and MP of the Milli Majlis, Nariman Gasimov, Deputy Head of International Relations Department of ANAMA, Vasif Huseynov and Vusal Guliyev, the AIR Center specialists, Gladden Papin, HIIA President, Sándor Seremet, Senior Research Fellow and Coordinator of the Research Group at the HIIA, László Vasa PhD, Chief Advisor and Senior Research Fellow at the HIIA, Zoltán Egeresi, Research Fellow at the John Lukacs Institute for Politics and Strategy, Klementina Kozma, Researcher at the School of International Relations at Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC), and Dávid Biró, Project Coordinator at the Hungarian Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
Addressing the opening ceremony, Gladden Papin, the HIIA President, and Azerbaijani ambassador Tahir Taghizade highlighted the importance of the conference, emphasizing the significance of the topics.
Following the remarks, Tamás Péter Baranyi, Director for Strategy and a Board Member at the HIIA, congratulated the participants on the excellent organization of the conference.
