On April 26, 2024, the AIR Center hosted a round table titled "Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan bilateral relations at the modern stage: deep strategic partnership."

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AIR Center, Farid Shafiyev, spoke about the dynamics of the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan:

"If we look at the dynamics of recent visits, we can say that bilateral relations are developing. Azerbaijan implements investment projects in Kyrgyzstan. I think it will expand further in the future."

F. Shafiyev emphasized the importance of the construction of a secondary school by Kyrgyzstan in Agdam:

"This project is implemented in the liberated lands, and it should be noted that so far, three countries—Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan—have contributed to the construction of educational facilities in the liberated lands of Azerbaijan. This is both a practical contribution to restoration and reconstruction works, and it has a great symbolic meaning. It is of great importance that the fraternal Turkic states actively participate in the restoration of Azerbaijani territories liberated from the occupation."

Touching on the relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, the AIR Center Chairman pointed out that mutually beneficial cooperation within the Central Asia 5+1 platform is also one of the important directions.

"I think that it is necessary to develop this platform at the level of experts.

F. Shafiyev also emphasized the necessity of cooperation within the framework of bilateral economic megaprojects as well as the implementation of humanitarian initiatives between the youth of the two countries.

Touching on the details of the visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Azerbaijan and Georgia, Kairat Osmonaliyev, noted that the documents and meetings signed during the visit will contribute to the further development of relations.

"Among the signed documents, I would especially like to mention the 5-year program on comprehensive development of cooperation. It will serve as a roadmap for bilateral cooperation. I believe that the agreement for avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to income taxes is also important for economic activity."

The diplomat noted that the state visit not only boosted relations, but also showed the commitment of both countries to the development of cooperation in all spheres.

Later, the panel discussion was moderated by Board Member of the AIR Center, Gulshan Pashayeva. G. Pashayeva said that the successful policy established by national leader Heydar Aliyev is still being continued today and that the development of relations with the Turkic world is one of Azerbaijan's foreign policy priorities.

Then the former Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Hasan Hasanov, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, the chairman of the "Kyrgyz Union of Diplomats," Janil Tumenbayeva, the head of the "International relations and foreign policy" department at the Academy of Public Administration, Namig Aliyev, the former speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament, Medetkan Sherimkulov, and other guests spoke about the development of bilateral relations and future opportunities.
