A book titled "Azerbaijan–U.S. Relations: Charting a New Course for Strategic Partnership" has been published by the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center). https://aircenter.az/uploads/kcVSmGvDeO0J.pdf

Co-authored by AIR Center department heads Vasif Huseynov and Shahmar Hajiyev, along with senior advisor Yunis Gurbanov, the publication explores the evolution of Azerbaijan-U.S. relations, rooted in shared interests and constructive engagement. It provides an in-depth analysis of bilateral cooperation across multiple domains.

In the foreword to the book, Chairman of the Board of the AIR Center, Ambassador Farid Shafiyev, describes the trilateral summit held on August 8 in Washington - mediated by U.S. President Donald Trump and attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan-as a historic turning point.

He notes that by bringing together U.S. President Donald J. Trump, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the summit not only advanced the long-sought peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan but also marked the reemergence of the United States as a central actor in shaping the region’s future.

“The initialling of a peace treaty, based on principles long championed by Azerbaijan, signaled the closure of a painful chapter of conflict and displacement, while opening a path toward stability, prosperity, and integration,” he adds.

The chapters titled “Setting the Stage for a New Phase in U.S.–Azerbaijan Relations,” “U.S.–Azerbaijan Relations in the Context of the Armenia–Azerbaijan Conflict,” and “Non-Energy Sectors of Economic Cooperation and Connectivity” were authored by Vasif Huseynov. The chapter “Energy Cooperation as a Strategic Pillar” was written Shahmar Hajiyev, while the chapter “The Historical Trajectory of Bilateral Ties” was authored by senior advisor Yunis Gurbanov.

The Conclusion and Recommendations section emphasizes that U.S.-Azerbaijan relations have entered a qualitatively new phase. It notes that while the relationship had long focused on the oil, gas sector and energy security, new priorities have now emerged. These include the non-energy sector, trade diversification, the TRIPP corridor, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, space research, and education.

The publication serves as a valuable source for policymakers and researchers interested in the future of Azerbaijan-U.S. relations.
