A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR) and the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies. The memorandum was signed by Air Center’s Chairman Farid Shafiyev and Director of the Georgian Foundation Ekaterina Metreveli, during Dr. Farid’s visit to Georgia. The memorandum of understanding envisages the exchange of experts, research, joint research, organization of joint conferences and cooperation in other areas between the two think tanks. During the discussions, Dr. Farid Shafiyev gave information about the AIR Center and spoke about the future plans of the new organization. The historical roots of relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan and the importance of cooperation between the two countries were also discussed. It was noted that both countries are located in a difficult region with a large number of players, and there are many issues that need to be explored together. During his two-day visit to Georgia, AIR Farid Shafiyev is meeting with a number of other think tanks and a wide range of experts.
