On January 8, 2020, the delegation led by Dr. Farid Shafiyev, chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations held meetings at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), at the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) and at the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations in Beijing. During the meeting, the parties discussed political, economic and security issues in the region, achievements in Azerbaijan-China bilateral relations, opportunities for cooperation in transport and other areas, the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and other important issues. They also discussed the programs which AIR Center is planning to implement for foreign researchers and the possibilities for mutual research. Dr. Farid Shafiyev also informed his Chinese counterparts about the modernization reforms conducted in Azerbaijan.
Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the China Institute of International Studies and the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations in order to expand opportunities for cooperation.
