The Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), Gazi University, and the Turkish Foundation for Political and Strategic Research (TÜRPAV) jointly organized an event titled “The Future of the Caucasus and the Middle Corridor: Economy, Transport, and Energy.”

The discussions underscored the strategic significance of the Zangezur Corridor, emphasizing its role as a critical component in advancing integration within the Turkic world.

It was noted that projects such as BTC, BTE, TANAP, and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars have strengthened the region’s economic, political, and geopolitical position, thereby forming the main pillars of the East-West trade artery.

During the discussions, it was emphasized that the disruption of transport linkages caused by the detachment of the Zangezur region from Azerbaijan during the Soviet period remains one of the principal obstacles to regional integration.

The event also featured the presentation of scholarly and analytical reports addressing energy security in the South Caucasus, prospects for the development of regional transport routes, opportunities for economic cooperation, and the long-term strategic visions of the Turkic world.
