On November 23 the AIR Center Chairman Farid Shafiyev delivered a lecture on "Geopolitical situation in the South Caucasus: challenges and opportunities" organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Qatar at the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies in Doha. During the lecture the audience was briefed on the history of Azerbaijan, the formation of national identity, the causes of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and the subsequent negotiation process, as well as the current restoration work carried out by Azerbaijan. At the same time, it was noted that after Azerbaijan's victory in the 44-day war, a new geopolitical environment has emerged in the region, opportunities for peace and cooperation have opened up, and in this context, the importance of opening of transport and communications was highlighted. The lecture was followed by Q&A session. Along with the staff of the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies, the lecture was attended by ambassadors of Turkey, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, students of the Doha Institute and representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora living in Qatar.
