AIR Center and Turkic States’ Youth Community Host Event at Hacettepe University

An event titled “The Normalization Process in the South Caucasus: Opportunities Created by Azerbaijan-Türkiye Cooperation”, jointly organized by the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) and the Turkic States’ Youth Community, was held at Hacettepe University on December 10, 2025.

The event brought together university faculty members, diplomats, experts, scholars, students, media representatives, and other participants.

Rector of Hacettepe University, Professor Mehmet Cahit Güran, delivered the opening remarks, underscoring the significance of familiarizing younger generations with Turkic history. He highlighted the contributions of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations, as well as the legacy and values of Türkiye’s founding leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

AIR Center Board Member Dr. Javid Valiyev discussed the positive regional dynamics that have emerged as a result of the policies pursued by both Baku and Ankara, noting their broader implications for the international system.

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Rashad Mammadov, underlined the significance of further deepening cooperation between the two brotherly nations.

Moderated by Bahadır Ozarslan, a lecturer at Hacettepe University’s Faculty of Law, the event continued with a panel discussion titled “The Turkic World: From Past to Future.” The panel featured Ayşe Uzer of Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tufan Gunduz of the university’s Institute of Turkic Studies, and Mahir Garibov from AzTV.
