From October 9 to11, 2025, the delegation of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) visited Barcelona, Spain. Within the framework of the visit, supported by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Spain and the “Ágora Diplomática” platform, the representatives of the Center held productive meetings with a number of academic institutions, delivered presentations on Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus region, and answered questions from the local media.

On the first day of the visit, a meeting was held with students of the CEI - School of International Relations (Diplomatic School). During the meeting, the current state and development prospects of Azerbaijan-European Union relations, as well as the latest geopolitical processes taking place in the South Caucasus region were discussed.

As part of the meeting with the students of Abat Oliba CEU University, representatives of the AIR Center delivered presentations on Azerbaijan’s foreign policy priorities, regional and international security issues, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the energy and transport sectors.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the AIR Center and the “Ágora Diplomática”— a Spanish platform that fosters dialogue among diplomatic, governmental, and academic circles. The MoU was inked by Dr. Vasif Huseynov, Head of Department at the AIR Center, and Mr. Pau Herrera, President of Ágora Diplomática.

The meetings held and the document signed during the visit serve as an important basis for expanding future cooperation opportunities and developing bilateral academic relations.
